Sunbirds of Cuckooland; Above are photos of sunbirds taken on the grounds of Cuckooland in the last year, or on the boundary path, separating the lodge from Bwindi National Park. Other sunbirds seen at Cuckooland, but which I have not yet managed to get photos of, include   :

• Purple-breasted sunbird
• Grey-headed sunbird
• Purple-banded sunbird
• Variable Sunbird

Most of the other birds on our bird list of around 300 species can similarly be seen in the lodge grounds or on the forest boundary path, thus requiring no park fees.  Come and check out the place, which offers excellent food, superb views over the forest, self-contained, secluded accommodation, and total tranquility.

Cuckooland is situated between Ruhija and ’the neck’, both providing excellent opportunities for bird-watching.
