Above are photos of greenbuls taken on the grounds of Cuckooland in the last few months, or on the boundary path, separating the lodge from Bwindi National Park. Red-tailed greenbul is also sometimes seen, and there have been some claims of sightings of Cabani’s and Toro Olive, though I have not confirmed these myself.
Most of the other birds on our bird list of around 300 species can similarly be seen in the lodge grounds or on the forest boundary path, thus requiring no park fees. Come and check out the place, which offers excellent food, superb views over the forest, self-contained, secluded accommodation, and total tranquility.
Cuckooland is situated between Ruhija and ’the neck’, both providing excellent opportunities for bird-watching.
